BIRATNAGAR: One person died while two others were injured in a road accident that took place at Belbari-3 on the East-West Highway on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Hari Prasad Khanal (53) of Dhulabari, Jhapa, police said.

The accident took place when a motorcycle (Ko 11 Pa 4743) heading towards the east hit another motorcycle (Me 3 Pa 605) coming from the opposite direction, according to District Police Office, Morang.

A woman, who was pillion riding in the latter motorcycle Khanal was driving, was seriously injured. She is undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar.

The first motorcycle rider Yadav Mani Dahal of Jirikhimti-8, Terhathum has also sustained minor injuries.
