1 killed, 3 injured in Dhading tipper plunge

DHADING: A person died and three others sustained injuries after the tipper they were travelling on plunged into Trishuli River in Gajuri Rural Municipality along the Prithvi Highway on Tuesday night. Tipper along with another person is missing in the incident.

Police identified the deceased as Keshar Pulami (22) and missing as Ram Krishna Bhujel (21), both of Gajuri Rural Municipality-6 in the district.

The incident occurred when the tipper (Ba 4 Kha 7781) en route from Kathmandu to Gajuri plunged around 200 metres below, into Trishuli River, at Pokhare Khola yesterday night, informed Gajuri-based Area Police Office.

According to police, Pulami was rescued from the accident site and rushed to a hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

The injured — driver Shyam Magar and two other passengers, all of Gajuri Rural Municipality-6 — received preliminary treatment at a local hospital in Gajuri and were later referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the tipper and Bhujel appear to have been swept by the river and search is going on, informed police.
