JHAPA: A person was killed and three others were injured when a motorcycle collided with a van at Bhalukhola of Shivasathakshi Municipality-10 in Jhapa district this morning.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Sanam Kandangwa (22) of Shivasathakshi-9. The injured have been identified as Raju Dahal (31), his wife Anjana (28) and Gita Karki, all the residents of Birtamod-5, travelling on the van.

The incident took place when a motorcycle (Me 6 Pa 2333) heading in a eastward direction collided head-on with a van (Ba 10 Cha 9818) killing Jandangwa and injuring three others, according to Police Inspector Rajesh Rai at the District Traffic Police Office (DTPO), .

The injured are undergoing treatment at the Birtamod-based B and C hospital.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
