RAUTAHAT: Police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in raping a six-year-old minor girl in Chandrapur Municipality-12 of Rautahat district on Friday night.

The suspect has been identified as Ajayeram Chamar (19) of the locality.

According to the Area Police Office of Chandranigahapur, Chamar committed the crime by luring the minor by giving a chocolate and 10 rupees.

DSP Manoj Rai said that they arrested Chamar on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's father.

The victim underwent medical check-up at the Chandranigahapur Hospital.

The incident came to light after the victim told her mother about the incident.

Further investigation into the case is under way, police said.
