BUTWAL: Two persons died when a jeep they were riding on skidded off the road and fell around 200 metres down, in Charchare of Palpa district, on Friday night.

The victims are Krishna Bhandari (47), a lecturer at the Resunga Multiple Campus in Gulmi, and Ram Prasad Pantha (55), a construction entrepreneur.

Meanwhile, driver of the vehicle Devi Panthi sustained serious injuries in the accident along the Butwal-Palpa road section of Siddhartha Highway and is undergoing treatment at the Lumbini Medical College.

The vehicle (Ba 14 Pa 9364) was heading towards Butwal of Rupandehi from Tamghas of Gulmi.

Meanwhile, political leaders of Gulmi district including CPN-UML Central Secretary Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Nepali Congress lawmaker Chandra Bhandari condoled the deaths.
