RAUTAHAT: At least two persons died while a speeding car hit a tree on the roadside in Chandranigahapur of Rautahat on Friday evening.

Chitra Bahadur Magar from Ranigunj-8 and Manoj Gole of Lalbandi-2 of Sarlahi district died on the spot in the accident occurred at around 8:15 pm today, police said.

Other six persons sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The four-wheeler (Ba 6 Cha 9012) heading toward Sarlahi from Chandranigahapur had lost its control and hit the tree at Lachaka, Chandrapur Municipality-1, Police Inspector Rudrakanta Jha said.

While five of the injured are being treated at a Chandranigahapur-based health facility, one serious case was referred to Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, according to police.

Further investigation is underway.
