23 injured in Dang bus-truck collision

DANG: As many as 23 people were injured when a bus they were aboard collided with a truck along the Rapti Highway in Dang district this morning.

The incident occurred when the passenger bus (Ra 1 Kha 941) heading towards Nepalgunj of Banke from Tulasipur of Dang collided head-on with the truck (Se 1 Kha 1287) injuring passengers at Bakhariyamod in Phulbari VDC today, according to the Tulasipur Area Police Office (APO).

As many as 18 of the injured have been undergoing treatment at the Rapti Zonal Hospital while the five critically injured ones have been referred to Kohalpur of Banke district for further treatment.

The Rapti Zonal Hospital administration identified the seriously injured as the bus driver Govinda Sharma (38) of Tulasipur Municipality-19, Keshar Bahadur Khadka (77) of Manpur VDC-2, and Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki (74), Kalawati Budhathoki (65) and Kiran Chaudhary of Panchakule VDC-4,  all the residents of Dang district.
