3 houses destroyed in Lamjung fire

LAMJUNG: As many as three houses have been completely destroyed in the fire that occurred at Highschool Chok in Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung, on Saturday midnight.

The fire that broke due to short circuit also engulfed a jewellery shop, a vegetable and fruit shop and a grocery shop were completely destroyed in the fire at Besisahar Municipality-7 yesterday.

According to DSP Sameet Chandra Kharel at the Lamjung District Police Office, some gold and silver jewelleries, a motorcycle, and goods in the shops were completely destroyed in the incident. “Property worth Rs two million were destroyed.”

After getting the information, a team deployed from the Nepal Police, along with the firefighters, reached the incident site to douse the fire.

The fire was doused at around 1:40 am. No human casualties were reported, he added.

The electricity supply in Manange Chautara has been disrupted due to the fire incident, added Kharel.
