33 people die in Siraha road accidents in six months

LAHAN, SIRAHA: At least 33 people have lost their lives while 240 others sustained injuries in Lahan of Siraha district in the period of six months in the current fiscal year 2017/18.

As many as 28 males, four females and a minor lost their lives in the road accidents that occurred from August to December end, according to Police Inspector Rudra Chudal at the District Traffic Police Office, Siraha.

Out of 188 accidents, 175 males, 38 females and 27 minors are among the injured in the road accident.

Of the accidents, more than 120 involved motorcycles. Stray animals, pathetic road condition and reckless driving are found to be the major causes of the accidents, said the Police Inspector Chudal.
