43 killed in road accidents in nine months

Damauli, April 29

At least 43 persons were killed and over 308 injured due to road accidents in the last nine months in Tanahun district.

As many as 133 road accidents has taken place from the beginning of this fiscal till the months April in the district in which 35 men and eight women lost their lives. According to District Traffic Police, the accidents had taken place along Prithivi Highway in Muglin-Kotre and other inner road section of the district.

The traffic police said that the road accidents were lessened in this fiscal year compared to the recent past. The office informed that different training programmes to transport entrepreneurs and traffic awareness programme to the pedestrians, traffic police have been introduced.

The traffic police office has also collected revenue of Rs 63,15,500 from those who violated the traffic rules in the last nine months. Gyanendra Bahadur Thapa, head of DTPO, said that they have been working hard to minimise road accidents after keeping some safety measures and indicators in the probable areas of the road accident.
