One more one-horn rhino rescued from India

CHITWAN: The officials of the Chitwn National Park on Thursday rescued one more one-horn rhino from India which was swept away during recent flooding in the district.

The rhino was rescued from Bhedipari of India 15 km away from Nepal border

The CNP officials said that they have rescued seven rhinos including today's one from India, however, six still are there, which would be brought back in near future.

Chitwan National Park Conservation Officer Narendra Aryal as quoted to Deputy Director of the Balmaki Tiger Reserve in India Amit Kumar said six more one-horn rhino are there in the reserve.

Aryal said quoting to Indian officials that one rhino was spotted in Piprashi in UP approximately 70 kilometres away from the Nepal border and two in Balmiki area, one rhino was found in Madanpur in UP.

Meanwhile, CNP officials have suspected that two more rhino might have cross to the India side via Gandak canal.

It has been learned that at least 150 Indian personnel have been deployed to take rhino under their control and heavy security have been provided for the protection of missing rhinos in the area.

CPN Conservation Officer Aryal said that its tough to predict have many rhinos are there in India as they are spotted in Nepal and India side on alternatives days.

The Chitwan National Park has deployed 30 personnel and three elephants for the rescue of one-horn rhino in the area.

Two one-horn rhinos lost their lives during recent disaster.
