49 APF personnel test positive for COVID-19

BARA: As many as 49 APF personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 in Bara.

According to District Police Office, Bara, Spokesperson DSP Gautam Mishra, infection was seen in APF personnel in APF 40 Number Reserve Battalion of Piluwa.

The government had set up the battalion on July 16 for border security in Bara, Parsa and Rautahat.

“Of the swab samples collected from 115 personnel and sent to Hetauda for PCR testing, 49 tested positive,” said the battalion Chief Manoj Thapa, adding the infected personnel had been kept in isolation.

APF has set up its own 70- bed isolation facility. With the new infections, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the district has reached 806. — HNS
