6 of Dhading family taken ill after consuming wild mushroom

DHADING: Six persons of a single family were taken ill after consuming poisonous mushroom in Tripureshwor village of Dhading district on Saturday.

The eldest among them, Nanda Kumari Pokhrel (66), is critical.

The Pokhrel family in Tripureshwor VDC-4 had brought mushroom from a nearby forest and cooked that for the lunch this morning.

But, the elderly woman, her daughter-in-law Rita (20) and grandson duo Bijay (12) and Kamal (10) fell ill after the meals, the Tripureshwor Health Post said.

The woman's daughter Bishnumaya Gauli (40) and her son Binod (14) were also taken ill.

All of them had fallen unconscious after the meals and neighbours had rushed them to the Health Post at around noon.

Assistant Health Worker Sandip Sapkota said they were referred to Kathmandu for further treatment this afternoon.
