Around 80 per cent work at the under-construction Singati Hydro Power Project (25 megawatt) located at Kalinchowk and Bigu Rural Municipality, in Dolakha, has been completed.

With the breakthrough of the first tunnel, 80 per cent of the work at the hydro power project has been completed, said the hydro power project director Kaji Lama.

Proprietor Batu Lamichhane of Singati Hydro Power Project said construction of the hydro power had reached the final stage. “The work on construction of the dam has reached the final phase. Now, work will start to give the finishing touches to the inside part of the tunnel.”

Project Chief Manhari Sapkota said that the main tunnel of the project would be finished within a period of six months.

Meanwhile, Sapkota claimed that the project would start generating power within eight months.
