Absconding human trafficker nabbed after 11 years

HETAUDA: Police have arrested a person eleven years after his conviction under charges of trafficking two women to India.

52-year-old Dasarath Pariyar of Bhimphedi who was at large after the District Court, Makawanpur slapped him 30 years in prison and Rs 280,000 in fine on April 26, 2007, was held by police from Banaspati, Hetauda-13, today.

According to Court Officer Ananta Raj Marasini, Pariyar trafficked a woman from Hadikhola in Manahari to India in 1994 and sold her at Rs 50,000. Likewise, a year later in 1995, he had trafficked a woman from Gajuri, Dhading for Rs 75,000.

Two separate cases were lodged against Pariyar during 1998 and after presenting him before the court, he was taken to Bhimphedi Prison to serve his sentence, District Police Office, Makwanpur informed.
