APF Birgunj seizes hashish being smuggled on motorcycle to India

BIRGUNJ: Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal on Thursday seized 11 kilogrammes of hashish being smuggled to India hiding under the seat of a motorcycle, in Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality-1 of Parsa district.

According to Chief at APF Border Security Office Birgunj, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dipendra Kunwar, a patrol team from Bhikhampur-based APF Border Outpost under the command of Inspector Niranjan Nayaju seized the illegal drug. He said an unidentified person riding on the motorcycle with the Indian registration number (BR 22Z 3129) left the two-wheeler and fled the scene after noticing the security personnel on patrol, in Oriyakhola region today.

Although police assumed that it was stolen bike, on checking it thoroughly, hashish was found hidden under the seat.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, police informed.
