APF head constable kills self in Udayapur

Gaighat, May 27

A head constable stationed at Armed Police Force Triyuga Gulm Bokse, Udayapur, committed suicide on the premises of the barracks today.

A note requesting all not to fuss over his death was found at the scene.

The head constable has been identified as Nabaraj Adhikari, 35, a resident of Triyuga Municipality.

According to Inspector Prem Kumar Rai, Adhikari was found hanging outside the alternative No 6 post 50 metres away from Barrack No 1.

The reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained, police said.

As the deceased’s legs were touching the ground, he might have been killed, claimed Adhikari’s family members.

Neighbour Bashu Thapa said Adhikari might have been killed as the place where he had hanged himself to death was only five feet high.

Inspector Man Prasad Shrestha at District Police Office, Udayapur, said investigation into the incident was on. Adhikari’s wife Radhika, who is in shock, has not regained consciousness and is being treated at District Hospital.

In the suicide note, Adhikari has made a request to take precaution while breaking the news to his wife and hand over all the money his children are supposed to receive. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and one son.
