HETAUNDA: An assistant driver died and two others sustained critical injuries in a tanker accident at Mahabhir in Makawanpur district along the Tribhuvan Highway on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Binod Chaudhary (25) of Simara-8 in Bara district.

The incident occured when the ill-fated tanker (Na 2 Kha 28 52) heading towards Palung from Bhaise fell some 600 metres down th road this morning, according the District Police Office, Makawanpur.

Driver Kumar Lama (37) and another person Man Bahadur Lama (19) were critically injured in the incident.

The injured were taken to a hospital in Hetaunda and later referred to the Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan for further treatment, DSP Bamdev Gautam said.
