Bad weather interferes with ‘three women, three top’ expedition

The expedition going to Mt Kanchenjunga as part of ‘Three women, three top’ campaign have not been allowed to continue their journey to the peak of the third highest mountain in the world Kanchenjunga, past the base camp due to bad weather for the past one-and-a-half weeks.

The team comprises 14 mountaineers, including three Nepali women who are in a bid to become the first Nepali women who climb the three highest mountains in the world — Pasang Lhamu Sherpa of Solukhumbu, Maya Sherpa of Okhaldhunga, and Dawa Yangjim Sherpa of Dolakha. The team had reportedly left Panchthar and trekked via Yamfudin to the base camp on April 9.
