Bandh called against decision to halt expansion of Attariya-Mohana road

Dhangadhi, January 19

Bandh was enforced in Dhangadhi today to protest the decision to halt the Attariya-Mohana road expansion work in Kailali.

Police took a dozen of bandh enforcers, including ward chair Bal Bahadur Air of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis-3, under control. The road expansion work was stopped after the Supreme Court issued a stay order on the case filed by as many as 13 house owners of the locality against the road expansion work.

The bandh was called by Dhangadhi Youth Pressure Group. Market places and business organisations remained shut. Similarly, long- and short-route vehicles also stayed off the roads due to the strike. Political parties and various organisations have expressed solidarity with the strike.

SP Binod Ghimire said some bandh enforcers were taken under control to bring the situation under control.
