Banepa Municipality launch drive to clear road side space

DHULIKHEL: Banepa Municipality has launched a drive to remove various materials kept by the vendors and hardware stores on the sides of the Araniko highway.

In the campaign — "Let Us Make Banepa Municipality Clean and Beautiful, Let Us Make the Araniko Highway Systematic" — municipality on Thursday removed various goods and material kept alongside the road by the fruit vendors, cloth merchants, food store operators and hardware stores.

Laxmi Narsing Bade, Mayor of Banepa Municipality led the drive to remove the goods and materials including the construction materials kept on both sides of the road with the help of the police.

Bade further added that the roadside from Pul Bazaar to Budol Danda has been cleared of such goods and materials for the present but the municipality has planned to clear the entire 28 kilometers stretch of the highway that falls under the Municipality in the coming days.

Mayer Bade warned that," We have started the campaign from today. The Municipality and the Road Division Office have issued public notice in this connection. Anyone flouting the Municipality's order to remove the goods and construction material kept on the road side would be liable for legal action."
