KATHMANDU: An elderly woman died after being hit by a truck at Gulariya Municipality-8 in Bardiya, on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as local Radha Devi Baniya (75), informed the District Police Office.

According to police, Baniya was crossing the road when the truck (Na 6 Kha 5903), travelling from Gulariya towards Surajpur, hit her at around 11 am today.

Baniya breathed her last on the spot, police added.

Police have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle for further investigation.
