BARDIYA: Property worth around Rs 1.5 million was destroyed in a fire at Sanoshreetaratal Municipality-6 in Bardiya district, on Tuesday.

According to police, the shop that caught fire belonged to Dil Bahadur Pariyar, a local.

Sewing machine, clothes as well as other goods were destroyed by the fire, police added.

According to the Sanoshreetaratal Area Police Office, the cause behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Locals suspect that the incident might have taken place due to a short circuit.
