Barpak to be developed as tourism site, says PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said initiatives would be taken to establish Barpak—the epicentre of Gorkha earthquake 2015—as one of the best tourism sites in the world.

Speaking with representatives of the earthquake survivors at his official residence in Baluwatar today, PM Dahal stated that he would support in every possible way to make Barpak a renowned tourism spot among the international tourists, informed a statement released by the PM's Secretariat.

"Being the epicentre of the massive earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25 in 2015, people have been familiar with the name and it would help reach the goal," said Dahal.

The representative team had submitted a memorandum regarding the issue to draw PM Dahal's attention, the statement read.
