Bhojpur campus gets new building

Bhojpur, September 29

Bhojpur Multiple Campus has brought into operation a new building constructed by Gorkha Welfare Trust Nepal in Bhojpur.

Students were taking classes in makeshift tents after the old campus buildings were destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes. The students are elated as the new campus building has come into operation.

Gorkha Welfare Trust Nepal constructed the campus building at the cost of around Rs 20 million. There are eight rooms in the new campus building.

Campus chief Dr RohitShrestha said after the quakes destroyed most physical infrastructure of the campus, they had been running classes from makeshift tents. He added that the new building was quake-resistant.

The trust had started construction work on the new building on November 6 last year and completed it on April 6. The campus administration said the new building had put behind many of the problems faced by students earlier. This is the second time the trust has helped the campus. The trust had constructed the library of the campus 22 years ago.

Sub-regional director Hem Chandra Rai of the trust said they were happy to help the campus where prominent leaders such as President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Province 1 Chief Minister Sher Dhan Rai had studied.

The campus runs classes for bachelor’s and master’’s level students.
