Bhojpur police officers save pregnant woman’s life

BHOJPUR: Two police officers from District Police Office, Bhojpur came to the rescue of a pregnant woman, who was facing critical complications due to excess bleeding while giving birth, and donated blood to save her life.

Apsara Rai of Tamke Mayung Rural Municipality-5 was battling with death after giving birth to a child at District Hospital when police personnel Jay Prakash Shah and Amir Rai immediately reached the hospital and saved her.

According to Police Inspector Charitra Bikram Karki, the personnel were sent after DPO received a distress call from the hospital on Tuesday night.

The kin of Apsara Rai said that they would always be grateful towards the police personnel who came to her rescue.

Although talks of establishing a blood bank surface time and again in Bhojpur, it has not been built yet leading to shortages of blood at critical times.
