Big parties not serious about Constitution amendment: Yadav

MORANG: Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman and Federal Alliance Coordinator Upendra Yadav said major parties were not serious about the demand for Constitution amendment despite their repeated pledges for the same.

Speaking with journalists at the Biratnagar Airport today, Yadav warned that the Madhes-centric parties would again launch an agitation if the statute was not amended to address their demands.

"The Madhesi people will not stay silent if a solution to the issue is not sought immediately," he said, adding local body restructuring and subsequent local elections would be meaningless without the statute amendment.

Meanwhile, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachhadar said the agitating Madhesi parties demands were not clear and concrete.

He blamed the parties including the FSF-N for prolonging the limbo and delaying agreements on the Constitution amendment.

Gachhadar was also talking to journalists at the same airport today.
