BIRGUNJ: An Indian national has been arrested for allegedly smuggling fake Indian currency of face value IRS 330,000, from Birgunj of Parsa district, on Thursday.

The Parsa District Police Office identified the suspect as Abhishek Kumar (31) from Muzaffarpur of neighbouring Bihar state in India.

SP Raju Babu Shrestha said Kumar was arrested by a team deployed from the DPO during a regular security check at Laxmanawa Chok in the city.

Shrestha further said Kumar has been sent to the Department of Revenue Investigation in the Capital for further investigation and action.
