Black marketing of petroleum products rampant in Birgunj

RAUTAHAT: The consumers in Birgunj of Parsa district are compelled to pay more price for the petroleum products as the black marketing of the petroleum products is rampant in the district.

The supply of petroleum products has been hit hard due to the ongoing general strike and obstructions at the border points enforced by the Madhes-based political parties.

The consumers have been forced to pay up to Rs 150 to Rs 170 per litre for the petrol against the fixed price of Rs 103 per litre.

The consumers lamented that the local police administration has not taken any initiative to control the black marketing yet despite their frequent appeals in this regard.
