SAPTARI: Renowned comedians of Nepal who started Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation have distributed blankets to the people of cold wave affected areas of Saptari district today.

According to the Foundation's Chairperson and Comedian Sitaram Kattel aka ' Dhurmus', a total of 155 families of Topa and Koiladi received the warm clothing each amid a programme that was held today in the district.

Likewise, with the financial support of Nepal Red Cross Society, the local district administration also gave out blankets to approximately 200 families of the Dalit settlement at Shambhunath Muniipality-6, 7 and 8.

The total number of deaths attributing to cold has reached 20 in Saptari district. However, the death toll attributing to the cold wave stands at 8 as per the police data.
