Border blockade irrelevant, says NC leader Acharya

PHIDIM: Nepali Congress leader Narahari Acharya stated that the government must take a concrete step to address the problems surfaced due to the India’s unofficial border blockade, in district headquarters Phidim, on Monday.

Speaking at a Constitution orientation programme organised by a local Peace Committee, Acharya said the border blockade imposed by India is irrelevant and baseless.

Acharya also said that the Constitution is amendable and must be amended to address the problems at the earliest. He added that the parties need to look over the sufferings of the common people, keeping their problems aside.

The former Minister Acharya clarified that the biggest and also the opposition party, Nepali Congress, will not get involved in petty games to topple the incumbent KP Sharma Oli-led government, but play a cooperative and creative role.

On a different note, he said he was positive that reforms within the party will also be made amid the national general convention scheduled for March next year.
