Call for respect to blacksmith skills

DANG: Speaker of Province 5, Purna Gharti Bishwakarma has said that the traditional skills of the Bishwakarma community need to be modernised.

Speaking at the Provincial level gathering organised by the Integrated Nepal National Bishwakarma Society in Tulasipur on Saturday, Speaker Bishwakarma said, untouchability though prohibited is still practiced culturally.

Mayor of Tulasipur Sub-Metropolis, Ghanashyam Pandey said, Bishwakarma are engineers of Nepal who discovered various tools. He also claimed that untouchability and caste-based discrimination would come to an end in federal democratic republic.

Society central chair Gopal Prasad Bishwakarma said, though untouchability came to an end by the law in Nepal, it has not been the same socially and culturally.
