CCTV cameras installed at vote counting centre in Tanahun

Damauli, December 6

In an effort to guarantee transparent vote counting, close circuit TV cameras have been installed at vote counting centres in Tanahun district.

As many as six CCTV cameras have been installed in the building of District Coordination Committee Office and eight CCTV cameras have been installed in District Agriculture Development Office’s building.

Chief returning officer’s office said votes of Constituency No 1 would be counted at the DCC office and votes of Constituency No 2 would be counted at the DAD office.

Returning Officer Govinda Giri said the CCTV cameras were installed to make voting counting transparent.

Byas Municipality provided the CCTV cameras to keep an eye on the vote counting process. The municipality will take the CCTV cameras back once vote counting is concluded. Security has also been beefed up at vote counting venues.
