RAJBIRAJ: Annual income and expenditure of the famous Chinnamasta Bhagawati temple in Saptari district of Eastern Region has been made public at a programme on Sunday.

Chhinnamasta Bhagawati Protection and Promotion Committee Secretary Babu Narayan Mandal shared income and expenditure of the temple.

According to the report, the temple earned Rs 1.1 million from animal sacrifice, which has become the greatest source of income last year.

Likewise, the temple spent the most of the amount (Rs 300,000) for salary of its staff.

Speaking at the function, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic District Chariman Satya Narayan Yadav demanded that the temple develop a democratic statute for its management.

Acting Chairman of the Committee Ram Narayan Yadav had presided over the programme.

VDC Secretary Satya Narayan Lal Yadav and Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) Saptari chapter Vice-chairman Shrawan Kumar Dev among others had spoken at the programme.
