CHITWAN: A biker and a pillion rider died when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a bus at Bharatpur of Chitwan district on Monday midnight.

The deceased have been identified as Nirajan Neupane (29) and Tilak Kandel (34) of Gaindakot in Nawalparasi, informed the Chitwan District Police Office.

The victims' motorcycle ( (Na 36 Pa 2264) was coming from the opposite direction when the bus (Na 4 3693), heading to Birganj from Pokhara, knocked it down in front of the Chitwan Medical College at around 00:30 am, according to police.

Neupane and Kandel breathed their last at around 1:35 am at the Bharatpur Hospital, police said.

The bus driver has been arrested for further investigation.
