Chitwan medics remove 11-kg tumor from womb

CHITWAN: Doctors at the Chitwan Medical College on Sunday removed an 11-kg tumor from uterus of a woman.

The medics had operated on Aaitimaya Gurung (49), a resident of Chhimkeshwori-7, Tanahun.

Dr Lok Bahadur Sedhai, Chief of the Gynecology Department at the Hospital, said the tumor had covered her whole stomach.

A team comprising of Dr Sedhai, Dr Bandana Khanal Neupane and Dr Luna Sharma had conducted the operation.

Sedhai said this is the first case of its kind in the Hospital.

Condition of Gurung is normal and she will be discharged within a week, the Hospital said.

The patient was admitted at the Hospital on Friday.
