Confident PM Dahal lashes UML for House obstruction

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal assured that the Constitution amendment bill registered by the incumbent government would be passed by the Parliament.

Addressing a press meet organised by Morang Chapter of Press Centre Nepal at the Biratnagar Airport in Morang district on Sunday, PM Dahal said that passing the registered bill  was a matter of the Parliament;  hence, nobody should obstruct the Parliament by displaying an undemocratic character.

Focusing on the democratic practice in political process, CPN Maoist Centre Chairman said that as soon as CPN-UML ended the obstruction in Parliament, the present deadlock would also be solved.

Dahal also made it clear that the government wanted to forge an agreement with the main opposition regarding the issues of the Constitution amendment bill, impeachment of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Chief Lok Man Singh Karki and date of holding local polls.

As the Federal Parliament's polls would not be held without holding local polls, Dahal accused the UML of  proposing the Parliamentary polls straightaway.

Similarly, he suspected that there was a big conspiracy to make the Constitution a failure behind the main opposition's protest.
