BAJURA, July 31

Charging Local Development Officer Yuba Raj Poudel with irregularities, cadres loyal to Netra Bikram Chand led CPN Maoist, smeared soot on his face at his office in Bajura on Friday.

A team led by former CA member and the party’s district in-charge Dabal Bahadur Sah barged into the office and smeared soot on his face accusing him of embezzling funds from various project during the last fiscal, at around 2:00pm on Friday.

Poudel has been accused of collecting from Rs 10,000 to 15 per cent of the money from the budget of each project launched in the district.

A statement issued by the party after the incident stated that the LDO had demanded commission from employees of different projects launched by the district development committee as well.

LDO Poudel demanded stern action against persons involved in his mistreatment. Earlier, locals of Tapri Sera Bramhatola VDC had manhandled Poudel accusing him of delaying payment for the road project.

Meanwhile, Bajura CDO Dhan Prasad Sharma Poudel has directed the police to arrest persons involved in this misbehaviour and proceed with necessary action.
