CPN Maoist Centre to follow parliamentary procedures if no consensus

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the CPN Maoist Centre Central Office today has decided to follow parliamentary procedures if it failed to forge consensus with the opposition parties regarding the Constitution amendment.

According to the party spokesperson, Pampha Bhusal, the party would continue discussions with the opposition parties, including the CPN-UML, in a bid to forge consensus. However, upon a failure, the issues including the Constitution amendment bill and local polls would be settled through parliamentary discussions, she added.

In the meeting, contemporary political affairs including impeachment motion against the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Chief Lok Man Singh Karki were discussed, informed the PM's Secretariat.

The meeting was held under the leadership of party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Baluwatar.
