UML to provide cash to kin of deceased, missing

CPN-UML Bara today announced the party would provide Rs 5,000 as cash relief to the family of each of the deceased and missing in the floods and landslides.

A meeting of the party’s district committee in Simara today decided to this effect. Expressing sympathy to the families of the deceased and deep condolence on the untimely demise of hundreds of victims, the party announced relief, as per CPN UML Publicity Department Chief Manoj Poudel. The meeting also decided to expedite the relief collection and distribution campaign besides rescue operation of the flood victims.

Gahaniya Devi Paswan, 45, of Simraungadh Municipality, and Mufayez Alam, 12, of Mahagadhimai Municipality, were killed in the floods while Bramhadev Mahato, 70 of Adarsh Kotwal – 9, and Bhawani Dhami, 35, of Nijgadh Municipality – 11 had gone missing in the flooded Shakti River since Saturday in Bara.

Meanwhile, the party also urged the government to repair different dams and structures which were affected by the floods at the earliest. Similarly, the meeting also decided to appeal to the government to repair rural roads which went dysfunctional due to heavy rainfall.
