UML can join govt if NC-Maoists pact scrapped: Secretary Bhattarai

TAPLEJUNG: The CPN-UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai on Wednesday said it would be possible to form a national consensus government incorporating his party also, if a new agreement was reached by abrogating the seven-point deal signed between Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centre recently.

At a press conference organised here today, leader Bhattarai said that an outlet to the current problems of the country could be found by forming the national consensus government based on an agreement for Constitution implementation, post-earthquake reconstruction, step-wise elections and budget implementation.

Claiming that the UML did not allow any damage to sovereignty, independence and decision-making capacity of the country, he said that the international manoeuvering on Nepal's politics may increase in the latest backdrop.
