JANAKPURDHAM: CPN-UML's Kishori Shah Kamal defeated Federal Socialist Forum Nepal's candidate Shyan Narayan Yadav with a margin of 5,298 votes to win a seat in the Provincial Assembly from Dhanusha 1(A).

Kishori secured 14,209 votes while her closest contender Yadav managed 8,911 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer, Janakpur.
