Criminals will not be spared, says minister

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said the government would not spare criminals.

Speaking at a programme held to administer oath of office to officials of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Kavre District Committee today, the minister clarified that the law would be applied equally to one and all living in the country.

“We have rule of law in Nepal. No one will be spared for  doing anything wrong,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to consolidating the rule of law in the country.

“As our party is the outcome of great sacrifices of our devoted cadres and leader and brave heroes, the government is committed to fighting all social ills, including corruption and crime without any prejudice or revenge against any party,” he clarified.

NCP Province 3 In-charge Astalaxmi Shakya had administered the oath of office to all the 126 office bearers of the Kavre district committee of the party.

While Minister Baskota himself was selected as the district in-charge of the party, former CPN-Maoist Centre leader Ruku Chaulagain has been picked as the chairperson of the committee. Similarly, the the CPN-UML faction of the party has bagged the position of committee treasurer.
