DHANGADHI: The District Administration Office has enforced a curfew in Dhangadhi, the district headquarters of Kailali district from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday.

The DAO informed that the curfew was imposed not to let peace and security situation in the district go out of control after the incident that took place in Tikapur area of the district on Monday afternoon.

According to the DAO, authority has been given to the security personnel even to shoot at those violating the curfew.

Similarly, curfew, which was imposed in Tikapur area from Monday afternoon, is still taking place.

A meeting of the District Security Committee held this morning decided to enforce the curfew in the area to curb any untoward incident, Chief District Officer Raj Kumar Shrestha informed.

Tikapur area as well as Munuwa, Joshipur, Narayanpur, Pathalaiya, Durgauli, Dhansinghpur, Thapapur, Bhajani, Khailas and Bauniya VDCs have been declared as riot-hit zone and a large number of army has been mobilised there from Monday evening.
