Curfew clamped in Kailali for third consecutive day

DHANGADHI: The local administration has clamped the curfew in Kailali for the third consecutive day today.

According to Chief District Officer Mohan Chapagain, the curfew will come into effect from 11 am to 5 pm today.

The curfew order has been applied from the border of Urma VDC in the east to the border of Kanchanpur district in the west and from the border of Attariya Municipality in the north to the border of Mohana River in the south, the administration informed.

Declaring Tikapur Municipality and 10 VDCs of the district as riot-hit zone, a large number of security personnel has been deployed in the areas to avert untoward incidents.

Mohan Sharma, former General Secretary of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Kailai Chapter said that the businesses have been hampered badly due to the curfew.

Normal life in the areas has yet to come to normalcy.

The curfew has mostly affected daily wage earners.
