Death of pigeons at Barahakshetra baffles pilgrims, locals

ITAHARI: Devotees and pilgrims were shocked to find the pigeons dying one after another today in Barahakshetra, a famous pilgrimage site for the Hindus, in Sunsari district.

It has been learnt that the pigeons on the roofs and on the premises of the temples went on dying.

The temple priest said that he did not know the cause of the death of the pigeons. The concerned authorities have already been informed and they are yet to investigate into the matter.

Bhakta Shrestha, whose house is close to the temple, said that the pigeons might have died after feeding on lime at the temple. He said the pigeons looked unwell after feeding on limes and collapsed after some time.
