District offices for implementing projects

Gandaki Province is all set to launch various programmes by opening offices under four ministries in all districts of the province.

A PA meeting of the province held today decided to open offices of as many as four ministries at the district level to implement programmes launched by the ministries.

“We are facing a hard time implementing programmes even after releasing the budget due to  lack of offices at the district level. Hence, we came up with the idea of opening those offices immediately and starting the work procedure,” said Physical Infrastructure Minister Ram Sharan Basnet, who is also the spokesperson for the provincial government.

The province government decided to open those offices after getting approval from the federal government. Necessary staffers have also been managed for the same.

A total of 18 offices are to be set up under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, 31 under Social Development Ministry, 24 under Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative Ministry and 29 under Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry. This was endorsed by the federal government.

Likewise, the province government has recommended to the central government to include Myagdi in the list of mountainous district. Earlier, the district assembly had approved and urged the province government to include the district in the list.
