Over a dozen houses inundated in Kaski

POKHARA: More than a dozen houses have been inundated after flood water from the Seti River gushed into the human settlements in Ramghat of Kaski district.

The slum areas on the bank of Seti River have been inundated after torrential rainfall since Monday night.

However, no human causalities have been reported yet as the people have been shifted to a safer place, according to Chief District Officer (CDO) Hari Prasad Mainali.

A massive flood in the Seti River damaged crematorium building at Ramghat, said CDO Mainali.

Likewise, flood in the Khahare Khola inundated a house of one Bishnu Paudel at Chhorepatan in Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-17, according to the Kaski District Police Office.

Similarly, increasing water level in the Seti River has put scores of houses in Kaseri of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-1 at risk, police said.

Likewise, the Yamdi River swept away two houses at Yamdi VDC in Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City 27.

Police said that vehicular movement along the Pokhara-Baglung Highway has been obstructed due to a landslide at Ghampus.

Meanwhile, the DAO has warned the people move to safer places.
