DPM Kamal Thapa meets Indian PM Modi

KATHMANDU: Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affaris Kamal Thapa called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday morning.

Nepal's Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay, India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae, Indian Prime Minsiter's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and other officials were also present on the occasion.

DPM Thapa had met India's External Affairs Minsiter Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and top Indian officials yesterday.

After the new government was formed last week, Swaraj invited her Nepali counterpart for a three-day official visit to India.

Deputy Prime Minister Thapa had flown to the Indian capital on Saturday to hold talks with the Indian government over disruption of essential supplies to Nepal.

Thapa is set to return home today.
