DPM Thapa to hold talks with India over border obstruction, supplies

KATHMANDU: The  KP Sharma Oli-led government has given Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa the responsibility to hold talks with India over the obstruction of Nepal-India border and ease the supplies.

The Cabinet's maiden meeting has assigned Thapa, who has taken charge of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to negotiate with neighbouring India in order open the border and resume supplies, according to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel.

Thousands of cargo vehicles and fuel tankers have been stranded on the Indian side after obstruction at border entry points for over two weeks.
